Davin’s dream of designing his own Chaos and Kindness Halloween design comes true!

A note from Ryan — 

Since I’ve known Davin, he has been absolutely obsessed with “spooky season” and all the things that come along with it.  4 years ago, he asked me if he could use my old laptop so he could learn to make his own halloween designs with hopes to make a t-shirt design for CK. So, I sat with him for hours that first day, watching him struggle to even double click on the app to open it because of the muscle difficulties that come with cerebral palsy. I was in awe of how patient he was and how much time he put into learning how to use photoshop, simply because he wanted one of his designs to be accepted so badly. For 4 years, I watched him continue to make designs, print them out and put them on our desks, waiting for his moment. Well, this year, he gets to have that moment. I made him a pinky promise that I would sit down with him and help him bring his Halloween dreams to life. He would sign language or type on his phone to me exactly what details he wanted in the design… from the theme, to the colors, to the little ck heart cutouts you see inside the bones and everything in between. He even came up with the slogan “Kindness is in my bones” that you see written on the right side of the design and for the first time ever, wrote the quote that you’ll see on the bottom of the hoodie in his own words. Having known Davin since he was just 7 years old, I know how much this moment truly means to him, and when he found out that the design was being printed, he cried and hugged me over and over just repeating “thank you.”
