Charlie was given $100 as part of our Golden Envelope project, and he chose to use it in the most thoughtful way.

With Read Across America Week in full swing, Charlie decided to buy the book “Kind Ninja” for every student in his entire first grade class—over 80 kids!

And he didn’t stop there. He had a little money left over, so he also bought them each an inspirational bookmark to go along with it.

Each gift includes a note from Charlie that says:

“The band Recycled Percussion has teamed up with Charlie to spread the message that kindness is important and can make the world a better place. So, they wanted to give you this book and bookmark to help spread kindness. We are all kind ninjas. Hope you enjoy the story!”

Charlie, thank you for reminding us that kindness can be simple, powerful, and something we all carry with us—just like a good book.
