For my Golden Envelope challenge I chose to start my day at our local Walmart and randomly select three amazing individuals at self checkout and paid for their groceries. The first friend I met, Jeremy, was moved to tears by the kindness and promised to pay it forward.I then decided to hand out 30 roses to strangers. I met a lot of amazing people and brightened their day! Little Miss Jasmine and her family were hilarious — when I asked her if I could gift a rose to her Mother and her Aunt, she said, “No! Just me!”
Then I took our mission to our North Port Police Station because I felt after all the help our community received after two years of back to back hurricanes, they might know how to best serve our community. I met Sergeant Caleb and Officer King! They loved our mission and pointed me in the direction of an Autism Awareness function happening today at one of our local gardens. They told me to seek out Sergeant Geary and in the midst of our talks about Chaos & Kindness and paying it forward, he mentioned that cash donations were mostly made to our local community charity #ShopWithACop where they serve underprivileged & displaced children throughout the community by personally take them shopping with them during the holidays.
On Monday I decided to go and purchase school supplies for our nine local elementary schools that are struggling to provide children with the necessary tools they need to enrich children’s lives. I hope I have made the Golden Envelope proud — what an incredible way to spend a weekend!
