It started with a simple idea: 1,000 hugs in five days.
Ryan set out across New Hampshire hoping to remind people that human connection still matters. What he found along the way was bigger than any number.
Behind those hugs were stories of loss, grief, addiction, illness, depression, anxiety and loneliness. There were people who had lost someone to suicide. People fighting battles no one around them could see. People who had survived their darkest days. And people who simply needed someone to stop, see them, and hold on for a moment.
Because sometimes we don't need the right words. We don't need someone to fix it.
Sometimes we just need to know we're not alone.
The front simply says “hug me" - as an invitation to connect. The back carries the message we hope you'll take everywhere you go:
HUGS SAVE LIVES.
